According to dusty long forgotten papers, Hashtronaut hails from Liverpool, U.K. However, information found so easily is almost certainly inaccurate, knowing how rumours create myths within myths. I can't say that it matters where he is from, though it is certainly the North; one can't fake an accent that accurately.
But who cares anyway? The musical history actually does start somewhere. 'Report From An Unknown Planet' is the official start of Hashtronaut's career. This is so because it was released to the public, distributed by hand, and therefore became a matter of reality rather than superstition. Hashtronaut has since declared that 'a lost album', and that 'Nexus', its follow up, is the first real Hashtronaut disc.
Not that the music world was to care, having become bloated with its own ability to feed the masses with tedious musical discharge while collecting unfeasonably large sums of money. 'Nexus' stood against everything that the music industry felt was important. It was free.
As he continued to record music, friends of Hashtronaut had moved into position to help launch a new entertainment concept, The Faceless Corporation and a new record label, Hashdiscs. Hashtronaut , always one to convert his reality, good or bad, into a purposeful intent, figured out that being obscure gave him the added advantage of not having to please anyone but himself with his music. 'Secret Sounds' was indeed 'the big secret album', so secret, in fact, he knows nothing about it at all. It still sits there possibly, gathering dust in a vault.
Then in 2006, Hashtronaut hit the World Wide Web. In doing so he realised that he had to get his house in order. The business structure referred to as The Faceless Corporation, was dead. So was Hashdiscs.
Fortunately, announcing your label's demise does not mean that you are dead.
